about & analysis:
Jeremy dellers artworks and practice incorporates forms of social investigation and archival research, often celebrating British popular and vernacular culture. His collection of t-shirts in his Fuck Brexit series has influenced my work through the playful language and irony presented throughout.
His direct message is masked through light humour with a play-on-word, using brand names. The essence of his humour can be reflected within t-shirts and prints of mine, for example: 'brands are bullshit'. The use of vulgar language to create humour is important, it can. be perceived as direct/sincere as well funny. Using humour and vulgar language within my garment and poster designs have been influenced through Jeremy Deller's series of printed garments. It also present a direct take on large capitalist brands, which has direct relation to my designs.
