About:

- further artist research to help decide what direction to take my brand in.

- different mediums for clothing brand - influence for designs.

each artist relates differently to my themes and ideas:

Analysis:

My research extended looking into different artists who comply into a similar interest, but use different processes in order to do so. This research would allow me to identify different processes that I could introduce to my artworks, whilst providing my with insight into different methodology of identify identity within art.

Victor Burgin is an artist who uses footage from fiction films produced in 1991. He the exports screenshots onto computer duo-tone screen prints. To me, a form of collage is presented within his work, especially within No title, Victor Burgin (1991) [Screenprint on paper]. Depicting a man embracing a woman which is being faded into an army hanger. This photograph is particularly interesting as it presents the emotions of the couples lives within a moment in time.

Two other processes I researched was photography and forms of physical sculptures. Gillian weaving uses photography within her artwork: I'm desperate, Gillian wearing (1992-3) [photography]. This piece uses text and body language in contrast to the identity of the person holding the sign. The well dressed man can be perceived as someone of high class, being well groomed whilst wearing a suit, he looks as though he is going to a sophisticated job. I like the playfulness of the irony used through him holding a sign that says 'i'm desperate' as he clearly is not presented as being somebody who is struggling in life. Contrasting this blue purple tilt, Jenny Holzer (2007), Holzer uses light emitting diode column presenting text in order to convey a message to her audience. The use of colour and font represent a robotic aura, yet presenting type of emotions.

Researching different process will be vital for me to continue experimenting throughout my project, and will provide inspiration for future designs and processes.
